Best-selling Electric Two-wheelers In March 2023

TVS dominated the other manufacturers, with its electric scooter outselling the others.
- Interestingly, the Hero Vida V1 wasn’t able to feature itself in the top 5 list.
- Ola, meanwhile, registered the maximum registrations.
- Ather took a middle-ground between the iQube and some Okinawa scooters.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has revealed March 2023 sales figures. Here's a breakdown of which electric two-wheelers sold the most:
Electric Two-wheeler | Sales (Units) |
TVS iQube | 15,364 |
Ather 450X | 12,554 |
Okinawa Scooters | 4,115 |
Bajaj Chetak | 3,514 |
Ola S1 | 21,356 (registrations) |
The iQube took the cake in this list, registering a massive 15,364 units in sales last month. While that does not sound like a lot when compared to a lot of its petrol-powered scooters, it’s a lot when you consider that the electric two-wheeler segment in India is still a very budding one.
Next was the Ather 450X, posting 12,554 units in sales. The scooter has won over a lot of potential customers with its motorcycle-like handling and thrilling performance. It was followed by Okinawa Scooters, a list that includes the PraisePro, Okhi90, iPraise+, R30 and the Ridge. That is because SIAM does not give segregated sales data for all of them.
The fourth scooter on the list was the Bajaj Chetak: an elegant but rather expensive scooter, especially given the limited features and mediocre performance it has on tap.
Please keep in mind that the sales data for Ola are from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The figures here are registration figures and while they aren’t sales figures, they do give us a bit of an idea as to where the electric scooter stands.
