Ather Energy has announced a price cut of up to Rs 25,000 on its 450S electric scooter model to boost affordability and adoption.
- Base variant now priced at Rs 97,000 ex-showroom Delhi, Rs 20,000 less
- Top-spec Pro pack variant gets Rs 25,000 price cut, now Rs 1.19 lakh
- Move aimed at driving faster EV adoption amid growing competition
With this latest price revision, the 450S now emerges as one of the most value-for-money electric scooters in its segment. Its pricing is comparable to Ola Electric's S1 X model which retails at Rs 99,999. It is substantially more affordable than other mainstream electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.15 lakh) and the TVS iQube (Rs 1.23 lakh).
Specification | Ather 450S |
Battery Capacity | 2.9 kWh Lithium-ion |
Motor Power | 5.4 kW |
Top Speed | 90 kmph |

More Range, Less Cost
Despite the price cut, Ather has made no changes to the scooter's hardware or features. The 450S is powered by a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack mated to a hub-mounted BLDC motor that produces 5.4 kW of peak power. This enables a true range of 85 km on a single charge, as per ARAI tests.
The scooter offers four ride modes (Eco, Ride, Sport and Warp) allowing buyers to adjust power delivery and range. A 7” touchscreen handles navigation, music playback and call functions. The dashboard displays information like range, navigation prompts and charge status.
Targeting Wider Adoption
The latest price revision for the 450S is in line with Ather’s aim to drive faster adoption of electric vehicles in India.
Analysts see the move as a timely one amidst growing competition in the e-scooter space. However, Ather already enjoys a first-mover advantage, combined with a robust charging network and ownership experience. The competitive pricing of the 450S will likely accelerate its sales momentum further. For price-conscious buyers, it presents a lucrative option to make the switch from conventional petrol-run models.
