The Ather Rizta will likely be powered as the same motor and battery as the Ather 450S
- The Rizta looks quite sharp and angular, more than we thought it would
- In terms of lighting, it gets LEDs all around
- The wheels seem to be 12-inch units at both ends
Recently, observers spotted the Ather Rizta electric scooter during what appeared to be a TV commercial shoot. Unlike previous sightings of camouflaged test mules, this time, the scooter was uncovered, providing a clear preview of its anticipated production design. Upon its release, key competitors for the Ather family scooter will include popular models such as the Honda Activa 6G and the TVS Jupiter.
The Rizta's design leans towards a more boxy and functional aesthetic, catering to a slightly mature audience compared to the sportier Ather 450 series. Its overall dimensions suggest ample space, with a long and spacious floorboard and seat capable of accommodating two adults comfortably, along with a sizable boot.
Notably, it features a single-piece grab rail with a backrest, likely offered as an accessory for the Rizta EV. Additionally, one of the scooters spotted had a two-tone seat cover matching its paint scheme.

Previous spy shots revealed a horizontal LED bar-style headlight and tail light setup, hinting at modern design elements similar to the Ather 450X. Expectations include a colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, although specific details remain scarce. While specifications regarding the motor and battery are yet to be disclosed, the Rizta's hardware includes conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.
Unlike the Ather 450X, it appears to feature a front disc and rear drum brake setup, possibly with a single-channel ABS, mounted on 12-inch alloy wheels.
It is anticipated that the Rizta will utilize a manual key-operated system, akin to the 450 range. The official launch is scheduled for April 6 at the Ather Community Day in Bengaluru, with an expected price range between Rs. 1.25 – 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Upon release, the Ather Rizta will compete with the TVS iQube range.
Model | Price (Estimated) |
---|---|
Ather Rizta | Rs 1.3 lakh |
The forthcoming Ather family scooter is anticipated to be priced at around Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, inclusive of FAME 2 subsidy). In contrast, the Ather 450S is presently priced at Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME 2 subsidy). This speculation implies a calculated manoeuvre by Ather to introduce two distinct scooters aimed at diverse demographics within the same price range, thereby broadening its market presence.
