Look no further if you've been on the hunt for a family-friendly electric scooter! Ather has just unveiled the Rizta, marking its debut in the family-oriented, non-sporty electric scooter segment. We've had the opportunity to take it for a spin, and after putting it through its paces, we're convinced it's an excellent option for a wide range of riders. Curious to know why? Dive into our comprehensive review below.
Ather Rizta: Design & Features
Breaking away from the bold aesthetics of its predecessors in the 450 series, the Ather Rizta introduces a fresh design ethos. Its frontal profile boasts a horizontally positioned headlight cluster with integrated DRLs and turn indicators, projecting a refined yet sophisticated demeanour. Side and tail panels further accentuate the scooter's fusion of form and function, appealing to a broad spectrum of age demographics.
Setting the Rizta apart is its distinctive tail-light, mirroring the bar-style design language of the headlight assembly. This design philosophy strikes a harmonious balance between elegance and utility, ensuring broad appeal across rider demographics. While the 450S caters predominantly to younger riders, the Rizta's design allure extends to more mature audiences.
Ather Rizta: Motor & Range
Specifications | Ather Rizta |
---|---|
Motor | 4.3kW |
Top Speed | 80kmph |
Battery | 2.9/3.7kWh |
Range | 123-160km (IDC range) |
Equipped with an air-cooled swingarm-mounted motor, the Rizta delivers a peak output of 6kW, akin to the performance capabilities of the Ather 450X. Notably, acceleration in Sport mode between 20-50kph showcases impressive vigour, albeit tapering off beyond this range. Demonstrating resilience, the scooter maintains stability even at speeds exceeding 80kph without exhibiting thermal stress during rigorous testing.
The Ather Rizta lineup comprises two variants, each offering advanced features. The Rizta S boasts a 7-inch LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, while the Rizta Z elevates the experience with a 7-inch TFT display and Google Maps integration.
Both variants introduce innovative features such as AutoHold and MagicTwist for regenerative braking, enhancing the overall riding dynamics. Noteworthy additions include integrated WhatsApp and Alexa functionality, setting new benchmarks for convenience in the electric scooter segment.

Tailoring to diverse commuting demands, the Ather Rizta offers versatile battery options. The Rizta S and one variant of the Rizta Z feature a 2.9kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed IDC range of 123km alongside a 350W portable charger. Alternatively, the other Rizta Z variant houses a larger 3.7kWh battery pack, extending the IDC range to 160km and reducing charging time to 4 hours and 30 minutes with the 700W Ather Duo charger.
What we really loved is that Ather has finally altered with its suspension setup, something the brand should have done even on the 450S. Since the Rizta is meant to be a family friendly electric scooter, it only makes sense that the Rizta is comfortable with its softly sprung suspension and that really is the case. Even when you sit on it, you’ll immediately realise that the seat is quite a soft one too, different from what we have experienced on the likes of the Ather 450S and the 450X.
Ather Rizta: Dimensions
Ensuring a sublime riding experience, the Ather Rizta incorporates a meticulously engineered suspension system comprising a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Paired with dependable braking components, including a 200mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum with CBS, the Rizta delivers precise control and formidable stopping power.
Ather Rizta: Price

Verdict
The Ather Rizta emerges as an attractively priced solution tailored for individuals prioritizing family-centric commuting, accommodating daily multi-rider scenarios with ease. Demonstrating Ather's adeptness in the family-friendly electric scooter segment, the Rizta impresses with its premium fit and finish, setting it apart from counterparts like the Vida.
