Bajaj Chetak might be one of the slowest-selling electric scooters, despite the legacy it is riding on. However, Bajaj Auto is eyeing changing the fortunes of the Chetak electric scooter by planning an update for it in the coming weeks. The new version of the 2023 Bajaj Chetak electric has been sent for homologation for the Indian roads, as per a leaked document.
What are the improvements in the battery specs of Bajaj Chetak electric?
The new document shows that the updated Chetak continues to get a 2.88 kWh battery in its Premium variant, which will now be the only variant of an electric scooter on offer. While the battery is the same as before, the claimed range has seen an improvement, with the Chetak electric now claiming a maximum range of 108 km on a full charge.
Compared to the current claims of a maximum range of 90 km in the Eco mode and 80 km in the Sports mode, the range of the new model is higher.
What are aspects remain unchanged in 2023 Bajaj Chetak?
Even the electric motor for the new Bajaj Chetak electric continues to be the same as before - with 4.2 kW of peak power and 4 kW of continuous power. The electric scooter is expected to be the same as before when it comes to visual appearance and equipment levels.
It will still have all-LED lighting, a rounded LCD instrument console, and 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless types and soft-touch switchgear with a backlit theme.
