Two-Wheeler Sales In November 2023: Decline In MoM, Growth In YoY Numbers

All the major two-wheeler brands recorded a drop in their sales numbers compared to October 2023, but also a growth in them compared to November 2022.
- Hero MotoCorp and Honda sold over 4 lakh two-wheelers in November 2023.
- TVS and Bajaj Auto secured third and fourth positions respectively, with their two lakh+ sales numbers.
- Royal Enfield and Suzuki finished in fifth and sixth positions with a close gap.
While the festive season continued to be in full swing in November 2023 due to Diwali in the said month, the sales of two-wheelers witnessed a decline in month-on-month (MoM) numbers compared to what they were in October 2023. All the two-wheeler brands recorded a decline in their MoM numbers, but at the same time, also recorded positive growths in their year-on-year (YoY) performance.
Here are the performance numbers of the top six two-wheeler brands in India:
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp led the sales charts of two-wheelers in India, by selling 4,76,286 units. The leading two-wheeler brand in India witnessed a 14.91% decline in MoM numbers but also recorded a growth of 25.39% in YoY numbers.
Honda
Banking on the strong numbers recorded by the Activa brand, Honda sold 4,20,677 units. This performance recorded a relatively lower 9.09% decline in MoM sales but an 18.99% increase in YoY sales.
TVS
Despite a strong performance by its new products and selling 2,87,017 two-wheelers in November 2023, TVS witnessed a 16.81% decline in MoM sales, but at the same time, it reported a significant 49.7% increase in YoY sales.
Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto has witnessed a decline in its sales numbers, but the brand sold an impressive 2,18,597 units in November 2023. This performance led to a decrease of 21.51% in MoM sales but a humongous growth of 76.78% in YoY sales.
Royal Enfield
With 75,137 units sold in November 2023, Royal Enfield recorded a 7.20% decrease in MoM sales and a 14.26% increase in YoY sales. The sales performance of the brand is expected to become even better with the recently launched RE Himalayan.
Suzuki
Suzuki sold 73,135 motorcycles and scooters in India in November 2023, which was 13.25% less than the previous month but 15.80% more than the numbers posted by the brand in November 2023.
