Banking on the consistent success of Activa, Honda ended March 2024 on an overwhelming note, with the brand recording improved YoY sales in the month. In March 2024, Honda recorded sales of 3,86,455 units, out of which 3,58,151 units in the domestic markets and 28,304 units in exports. However, the performance in MoM sales ended in a degrowth for Honda. The Japanese two-wheeler maker carries the popular likes of Honda Dio, Honda Activa 125, Honda 110, Honda Shine 100, Honda SP160, Honda SP125, Honda Hornet 160 and others in India.
Starting with the YoY performance, the 3,86,455 units of two-wheelers sold in India by Honda make up for an 82.31 per cent growth in YoY performance, considering that Honda sold 2,11,978 units in March 2023. However, the tables did turn in the MoM performance, where Honda sold 15.75 per cent less compared to 4,58,711 units sold in February 2024.
According to data released, Honda also recorded a significant growth of 25.66 per cent in exports compared to last year in the same month, by shipping 83,914 units in March 2024 compared to 66,769 units in March 2023. At the same time, the MoM sales in exports dropped by 7.08 units.
In recent months, Honda has been on a roll by launching newer products for India, including SP 160, Dio 125, XL750 Transalp, NX 500 and new variants of CB 350. Among all the models sold by Honda in India, a large chunk of sales continues to come from the Activa and Shine.
