Honda is contemplating increasing the production capacity in two of its manufacturing facilities to meet the production demands of the new Activa Electric.

The plans for the much-awaited Honda Activa electric are finally materializing now. According to reports, Honda has started working on expanding its production capacity to accommodate the production of electric Activa.
Honda is reportedly adding two manufacturing lines for the new Ather Rizta and Ola S1 Air rival at its production facilities in Gujarat and Karnataka. It indicates that the new electric Activa will be launched in the first quarter of 2025. Honda Activa Electric will rival the likes of Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 Air.

Codenamed K4BA by Honda, the new Activa Electric is expected to enter the production floors in December 2024, with the Karnataka facility being the first production hub for the Honda electric scooter. While the original plan to launch Activa Electric was in early 2024, it was delayed till early 2025.
In one of its public events in 2023, Honda unveiled an all-new platform for its new electric scooters named ‘Platform-E’. The upcoming Honda Activa Electric will be based on this new platform and is rumoured to get a swingarm-mounted electric motor to propel the rear wheel.
