Bajaj Freedom Launches as the World’s First CNG Motorcycle at Rs 95,000

The Bajaj Freedom has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. This is the World’s first CNG motorcycle. 

The CNG bike was unveiled by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in Pune.

Variants and Price

The Bajaj Freedom comes in three variants- Freedom 125 Disc LED, Freedom 125 Drum LED and Freedom 125 Drum. The top two variants will set you back by Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.05 lakh, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.

Fuel and Mileage

Bajaj has emphasised the Freedom 125’s fuel efficiency as a key selling point.expand_more The company claims an impressive 67 kmpl on petrol, however, the real game-changer lies in the CNG mode. With a claimed mileage of 102 km/kg, Freedom 125 promises significantly lower running costs compared to its petrol counterparts. This translates to a combined range of 330 km on full tanks. 

CNG Tank, LED Lighting, and Advanced Features

The Bajaj Freedom is expected to be a commuter-class motorcycle featuring a CNG tank that will be located under the seat along the length of the motorcycle. The seat will be a notably long and wide one-piece unit overlapping a certain portion of the petrol fuel tank and ending with a grab rail. Expect all the lighting on the Bajaj Freedom to be all-LED, five-spoke alloy wheels and a semi-digital instrument console.
