That said, this program is valid only up to March 31, 2024

  • The catch of this program is that the owners will have to give their scooters in Bengaluru
  • What will happen if there is a proper inspection of what state your scooter is in for the exchange
  • The 450S makes 3kW from its motor and enables a 90kmph top speed

Ather Energy, the leading electric scooter manufacturer, has introduced a new exchange programme aimed at current scooter owners in Bengaluru who are interested in upgrading to the latest models, the Ather 450X or the Ather 450 Apex. This initiative launched as a pilot programme, targets select customers who registered for the Ather Upgrade programme in January 2023.

Under the Ather Upgrade programme, valid until 31st March, owners of Ather 450 Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 who wish to upgrade to the 450X must complete their purchase, invoicing, and registration by 31st March 2024.

Similarly, those opting for the 450 Apex have until 30th April to complete the process. Importantly, the entire transaction, including the handover of the old scooter, is expected to be completed on the same day. To participate, owners need to bring their scooters to the Ather Space Experience Centre located in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Trained personnel will conduct a thorough assessment of the scooter's condition and verify any pending traffic violations or fines.

Based on these checks, Ather Energy will determine the eligibility of the owner for the exchange programme. Notably, even customers who purchased a pre-owned Ather 450 can take advantage of the Ather Upgrade programme if they signed up in January of the previous year. For scooters older than 36 months, the prices for the new Ather 450 models range approximately from Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1.30 lakhs, depending on the variant and additional features.

Furthermore, Ather Energy is set to unveil its highly anticipated Rizta e-scooter on April 6, 2024, during Ather Community Day 2024. This launch marks the company's foray into the family scooter segment. Recent spy shots of the Rizta undergoing water wading tests showcase its rounded styling and a new bar-type LED headlamp. The tests also demonstrate the scooter's capability to navigate flooded areas without compromising critical components.

Additionally, features such as a telescopic front fork, a wide front tyre, and wider rear-view mirrors have been observed in the test mule. While specific details about the Rizta's features remain undisclosed, it is expected to introduce several segment-first innovations, promising an exciting addition to Ather Energy's lineup.
