2025 Hero Passion Plus Launched At ₹81,651: Now OBD-2B Compliant
News by Team Drivio | 11 Apr 2025
Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2025 Passion Plus in India at ₹81,651 (ex-showroom Delhi), bringing the popular commuter motorcycle in line with the latest OBD-2B emission norms. Apart from this compliance update, the bike remains largely unchanged in terms of design, features, and performance.
Engine & Performance
At the heart of the 2025 Passion Plus is the same tried-and-tested 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It continues to produce 8.02PS at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate clutch. The key update this year is that the engine has been made OBD-2B compliant, ensuring it meets the latest emission regulations without compromising on performance or fuel efficiency.
This engine setup is also shared with Hero's other popular models like the Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe, reinforcing its reputation for reliability and low maintenance.
Design & Colours
Hero has retained the overall styling of the Passion Plus, including the five-spoke black alloy wheels and the clean, commuter-focused design. While the previous model offered four colour options, the updated 2025 version is available in just two dual-tone shades:
- Black Nexus Blue (Black with Blue decals)
- Black Heavy Grey (Black with Red decals)
However, the more affordable variant, priced at ₹79,901, still offers four colour options, including Black Grey Stripe and Sport Red.
Hardware & Underpinnings
The Passion Plus continues to be built on a double cradle frame and features:
- Front Suspension: Telescopic forks
- Rear Suspension: Twin-tube shock absorbers
- Brakes: 130mm drum brakes at both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System)
- Wheels: 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres (80-section front and 100-section rear)
- Seat Height: 790mm
- Ground Clearance: 168mm
- Kerb Weight: 115kg
Features
Though simple and commuter-focused, the Passion Plus comes equipped with several practical features:
- Analog-digital instrument cluster
- Utility storage box below the fuel tank
- i3S (Idle Start-Stop System) for better fuel efficiency
- Side-stand engine cut-off
- Mobile charging port
- Self-start
These features make it a well-rounded option for daily riders looking for efficiency, reliability, and convenience.
Pricing & Rivals
The new OBD-2B compliant model is ₹1,750 more expensive than the outgoing version. The pricing is as follows:
- 2025 Passion Plus OBD-2B: ₹81,651
- Previous model (non-OBD-2B): ₹79,901
At this price point, the Hero Passion Plus takes on other popular commuter bikes such as:
- Honda Shine 100
- Bajaj Platina 100
- TVS Sport
- Hero’s own Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe
