Royal Enfield showcased its extensive motorcycle range at the prestigious 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show, providing enthusiasts with a comprehensive display. From the rugged Himalayan 411 and Himalayan 450 to the powerful Super Meteor 650 and beyond, the lineup featured an array of impressive bikes.
For those who share a passion for Royal Enfield, let's take a swift tour through the diverse selection of motorcycles that graced the brand's exhibit at this year's event:
Royal Enfield Himalayan 411
Specifications | Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 |
---|---|
Engine | 411cc engine |
Maximum Power | 24.31PS |
Maximum Torque | 32Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
Interestingly, Royal Enfield put on display the Himalayan 411, a bike that the brand has already discontinued from the Indian market. While it was an easy-going off-roader and a bike we quite enjoyed riding, it has now been replaced by the Himalayan 450, a bike that’s more powerful and more versatile in many ways.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
Specifications | Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 |
---|---|
Engine | 452cc liquid-cooled engine |
Maximum Power | 40PS |
Maximum Torque | 40Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed |
Moving onto the bike that replaced the Himalayan 411, the Himalayan 450. This Himalayan sure impressed us with its much more powerful liquid-cooled engine and it is also the first ever Royal Enfield bike to have a liquid-cooled motor. So if you are looking for something in this category, the new Himalayan is a truly great choice.
Royal Enfield Scram 411
Specifications | Royal Enfield Scram 411 |
---|---|
Engine | 411cc engine |
Maximum Power | 24.31PS |
Maximum Torque | 32Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
Now while the Himalayan 411 has been discontinued, its younger sibling, the Scram 411 is still on sale in India and presents itself as a good-looking option in the 300-500cc scrambler market. That said, that market is now heating up with the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, Yezdi Scrambler and maybe even the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.
Royal Enfield Hunter 350
Specifications | Royal Enfield Hunter 350 |
---|---|
Engine | 349cc engine |
Maximum power | 20.2PS |
Maximum torque | 27Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
Royal Enfield also displayed its most affordable bike, the Hunter 350 at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show. It was present there in a couple of attractive colour schemes and thankfully, all of them are actually sold in India. So in those terms, we have no complaints from Royal Enfield whatsoever. So if you are looking for an entry point in the RE family, the Hunter 350 is a good choice.
Royal Enfield Classic 350
Specifications | Royal Enfield Classic 350 |
---|---|
Engine | 349cc engine |
Maximum power | 20.2PS |
Maximum torque | 27Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
Of course, Royal Enfield also displayed its evergreen bike, the Classic 350 at Bangok International Motor Show. the Classic 350 is powered by the lovely J-series 349cc engine and while it is not super powerful, it does ensure that the rider gets the perfect retro bike riding experience with its torquey and easygoing nature.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350
Specifications | Royal Enfield Bullet 350 |
---|---|
Engine | 349cc engine |
Maximum power | 20.2PS |
Maximum torque | 27Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
If the Classic 350 is evergreen, the Bullet 350 is definitely iconic. So of course, Royal Enfield had to put this bike on display as well. In fact, funnily enough, despite it not being their most affordable bike, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is still one of the highest-selling bikes from the brand’s stable. That shows what sort of a following it has.
Royal Enfield Meteor 350
Specifications | Royal Enfield Meteor 350 |
---|---|
Engine | 349cc engine |
Maximum power | 20.2PS |
Maximum torque | 27Nm |
Transmission | 5-speed |
The smaller Meteor in Royal Enfield’s lineup is the Meteor 350. It too, is powered by the J-series engine and it feels lovely on this bike. The torquey nature means there is enough grunt to get around without having to change gears.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
Specifications | Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 |
---|---|
Engine | 648cc air- and oil-cooled engine |
Maximum power | 47PS |
Maximum torque | 52.3Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed |
The bigger Meteor, meanwhile, is the Super Meteor 650. It is obviously powered by Royal Enfield’s parallel-twin engine and is quite a delight as well. The only thing buyers would have to look out for is the rear suspension which we think is quite firm and uncomfortable for our roads, something that is an inherent issue with cruisers.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 And Interceptor 650
Specifications | Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 And Interceptor 650 |
---|---|
Engine | 648cc air- and oil-cooled engine |
Maximum power | 47PS |
Maximum torque | 52.3Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed |
The Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 are bikes that made multi-cylinder bikes accessible in India. And even 6-7 years after their launch, they still feel very enjoyable to ride. So if you are looking for an authentic retro roadster riding experience, you should definitely consider these two.
