It’ll maintain the same curvy design, while sporting subtle but important changes.
- Its 97.2cc engine is likely to make around 8PS and 8.05Nm.
- It’ll share the engine with the Splendor Plus.
- Thankfully though, Hero will not tamper around with the ‘Passion’ moniker.
The Spendor and the Passion are two well-known workhorses at the Hero MotoCorp. When the BS6 era arrived a few years ago, the Splendour made the cut into the future, but the Passion Plus did not, and it was gone. However, based on these spy images taken at an event (presumably a dealer event), the Passion Plus appears to be poised to make a reappearance in the even tighter BS6.2 (OND-2) era.
In contrast to the existing Passion Pro, which has a 110cc engine, the Passion Plus has a sloper engine similar to the Splendour Plus. The air-cooled, fuel-injected 97.2cc engine produces 8.02PS and 8.05Nm.
Among other cosmetic modifications, the spy pictures show a flush fit fuel filler cap, a new designed headlamp cowl and a different taillight unit than the previous model. Finally, the two colours visible in the spy images are identical to the earlier Passion Plus.
In terms of hardware, the new motorcycle's suspension unit is identical to the previous one, with a telescopic front fork and twin coils at the rear. The braking system appears to be carried forward as well, with drum brakes at either end; nevertheless, this updated incarnation receives a combined braking system (CBS). Finally, to improve handling, these new bikes are seen sporting new rounder profile tyres as opposed to the previous commuter-esque ribbed tyres.
While there is no official news on the motorcycle yet, we anticipate it will hit the market in July of this year and will be priced around Rs 75,000 (ex-showroom). It will compete with the TVS Radeon, the Bajaj Platina100, and the Honda Shine 100.
