News by Team Drivio | 4 Jan 2024

The new 440cc Hero motorcycle will share its air-cooled, 440cc engine with the Harley-Davidson X440, but in a different state of tune.

  • Hero MotoCorp recently trademarked the “Mavrick 440” name, indicating that the new motorcycle will be called by this name.
  • It will be a sharp-looking performance roadster and will rival the likes of TVS Apache RTR 310, KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400 and BMW G 310 R.
  • It will be the new flagship motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp.

Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its first motorcycle based on the 440cc platform it has co-developed with Harley-Davidson. This new motorcycle is touted to be the new flagship offering from Hero MotoCorp and will debut in January, with its sales set to commence in February 2024. There are reports that this new Hero motorcycle will be named Mavrick 440 and will sit above the Xtreme 160R and Xpulse 200T.

Last year, Hero MotoCorp trademarked the name Hurikan 440, which was expected to be the name of the upcoming 440cc motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp. However, Hero recently trademarked another named “Mavrick 440”, indicating that the company has changed its mind about giving this upcoming new motorcycle a new identity. The invites sent by Hero MotoCorp to various media houses also contain three alphabets I, V and R, indicating that Hero might have chosen Mavrick 440 as the new name for its upcoming flagship motorcycle.

The new motorcycle will share its air-cooled 440cc engine with the Harley-Davidson X440, though with a different character and a state of tune. The motorcycle is also reported to be a sharp-looking, performance-oriented roadster to compete with the other naked roadsters like KTM 390 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 310, Triumph Speed 400 and BMW G 310 R.
