Your favourite electric scooter from Ather and Ola has become more expensive.
- Ather increases the prices of the 450 range by Rs 8,000-15,000.
- Ola increases the prices of mid-spec S1 and top-spec S1 Pro by Rs 15,000.
- The price hikes are effective due to reductions in FAME-II subsidies
With the reduction in FAME-II subsidy offered on electric two-wheelers, the EV makers have started revealing the updated higher prices of their products. The two most premium brands in the EV two-wheeler space, Ather and Ola, are the front runners in the race and have announced the updated prices of the 450 range and S1 range of electric scooters.
Ather has increased the prices of the higher-spec 450X by Rs 8,000, despite an increase of Rs 32,000 due to a drop in subsidies. However, Ather claims to absorb the remaining margin of the hike (Rs 24,000) on the 450X. Meanwhile, the lower-spec 450S has become pricier by Rs 30,000, though it now comes with a faster 700W charger and access to the Grid fast-charging network.
Meanwhile, Ola has introduced a price hike of Rs 15,000 on the S1 3 kWh and S1 Pro. While the prices of the three variants of base-spec S1 Air remain unchanged, Ola has discontinued the S1 3 kWh variant, which was earlier available at Rs 99,999.
